Fatoumata Diallo

RSA Representative of Burkina Faso & Guinea

 

Fatoumata Diallo is a Guinean born (Guinea Conakry) women’s rights advocate. Young and dynamic, she is passionate about Africa’s development. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from London Metropolitan University.

 

In January 2014, she joined Make Every Woman Count (MEWC) as Advocacy and Communication Intern, an Organisation dedicated to the promotion and empowerment of African women’s Rights. In that capacity, she was responsible for daily management of the website with new contents including latest news stories, videos, photos, press releases as well as social media engagement. She had the privilege to be part of the Project Committee working on the preparation of MEWC 2014 Annual Report, summarizing the progress made by all African countries in regards to Women’s Empowerment & Gender Equality in all areas of development discourse. She also monitored and reported on Women’s Political participation during both Egyptian and Algerian Presidential elections.

In March 2015, Fatoumata moved to join the Production Team of the latest undergoing Nelson Mandela factual film project, “Memorial Day” as Associate, Campaign Producer. In this role, she enjoyed the responsibility of marketing the campaign.  She identified potential donors and maintained a good level of communication and excellent relations. She developed and implemented an overall strategy to increase the campaign audience engagement on social media.  

 

Currently, Fatoumata is working as a Programme Development Officer at both Executive for Development (EfD), an organisation dedicated to assisting African nations to build the next generation of African Leaders and Managers to lead on the Emergence & Development agendas as well as the Justina Mutale Foundation for (Women’s) Leadership, launched in late October 2015 with the ambition to tackle gender inequality globally, particularly Africa, in a bid to address challenges facing women and girls and to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For both organizations, Fatoumata is responsible for project development and implementation and has worked on a number of projects aimed at fostering and strengthening youth input in African development. With time, she demonstrated a clear-cut capacity in building strategic partnerships via representations at International Forums and Conferences. Fatoumata has been moderating events both in the UK and recently Africa (Burkina Faso) where she was the main speaker. She is due to attend the 60th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW60) in New York at the Headquarter of the United Nations as well as the Women Economic Forum in India as part of the JMF for Leadership in the forthcoming year.

 

Fatoumata is enthusiastically taking part to this brilliant initiative, the (MAMA PACK Project) to help thousands of women across Africa during their most vulnerable time, which is giving birth.

Fatoumata is married and is blessed with a 3 years old son.
